Giggling Restaurants, the operator of the Giggling Squid Thai restaurant chain, has finally secured a site in Reigate, Surrey, over a year after it first entered talks over a unit in the town.
The group, which is led by husband and wife team Andy and Pranee Laurilland, has signed a 20-year lease for the former Puccinos cafe in the town’s High Street, with an opening scheduled for next spring.
Earlier this year, the company announced plans to extend its operation to 50 sites over the next five years.
It recently opened its fourth site, an 80-cover restaurant in Henley-on-Thames, adding to sites in Brighton, Hove and Crawley in Sussex and Tunbridge Wells in Kent.
It plans to expand the business north round the M25 and west along the M4.
