Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), the Capricorn Ventures-backed group, will open three new sites over the coming three months and has further strengthened its pipeline for 2015, M&C Report has learnt.

The Alasdair Murdoch-led group is currently on site at restaurants in Glasgow and Watford, which are due to open next month.

It is also on site in Swindon, which is due to open at the end of January.

The 62-strong group has also secured a listed-property in Canterbury’s St Peters Street for an opening next Easter.

The company, which is understood to have reported positive like-for-like growth since its year end in February, recently opened in the Exchange in Aylesbury and has a further site lined up in Widmore Road, Bromley.

It has also upgraded over two thirds of its estate and is understood to be seeing good ROI from those restaurants already refreshed.

It plans up to 10 new openings in total over the next 12 months.

The group has already strengthened its long-term pipeline by securing three openings for 2015/2016.

It has signed on units in Newport’s Queensbury Scheme, Stoke’s intu development and at L&G’s development Bracknell.
