Ignite Group, the owner of the Cocoon and Bumpkin restaurants, has continued to beef up its senior management team with the appointment of Frankie & Benny’s co-founder Kevin Bacon. Bacon, who joins the group as a non-executive director, was most recently managing director of Jamie Oliver International Restaurants. Previous to this he was a main board director at the Restaurant Group for eight years. Matt Hermer, Ignite’s chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Kevin to the board. His operational expertise and vast experience will be crucial to help us with the next stage of our ambitious growth strategy both in the UK and internationally.” In October the Boujis private members club owner recruited Samir Kerchiched, previously with Momo, Club Cascon and Sketch, as its new operations and development director. Alice Avis, currently group chairman of health brand Sanctuary Spa, joined Ignite’s board in a non-executive capacity in September.
