Flat Iron, the Charlie Carroll, steak-led concept, was celebrating a double triumph last night after collecting two awards at the annual R200 Awards last night.

The ‘single-steak’ dining concept, which recently secured its fifth site in King’s Cross, collected the Best Value Restaurant Operator (Under 20 sites) and Most Effective Restaurant Design Awards at the event, which was hosted at M Restaurant Victoria and are run by MCA’s sister publication Restaurant.

The Hugh Osmond-backed Coppa Club collected the Best New Scaleable Concept award, whilst Wagamama was named Best Restaurant Operator (over 20 sites) and Honest Burgers Best Restaurant Operator (under 20 sites.)

Richard Caring’s Sexy Fish in Mayfair was named best Opening of the Year, whilst Franco Manca collected the Best Value Restaurant Operator (over 20 sites) award.

The Mark Derry-led White Brasseries won the Pub Company of the Year award.

The Best Restaurant Drink Offer prize went to MEATliquor.

Nando’s collected the Best Family Restaurant Operator award, beating off competition from Beefeater Grill, Shake Shack, PizzaExpress and Thaikhun.

The awards were sponsored by Chapman Ventilation, Daura Damm, Flypay, Just Eat, LiveRES, NatWest, Reynolds, Shelley Sandzer, Venners and Zonal Retail Data Systems.
