Five Guys, the better burger brand, has secured a further flagship site in the capital, after taking the Ping Pong restaurant in Westfield Stratford.

The company, which is on track to operate 79 sites in the UK by the end of the year, hopesd to open the Westfield site just before Christmas.

The sale of the site leaves Ping Pong with eight sites in the capital.

At the same time, it has taken on a site previously designated for Las Iguanas in Colchester and has lined up a second site in Nottingham, near the Showcase Cinema in Redfield Way.

The group opened on the former Ed’s Easy Diner site in Wandsworth on Monday and will open in Oxford this Friday - in Magdalen Street next to the Odeon cinema and the former Lola Lo unit.

Jake Bernstone at Stonebrook London acted on the Westfield deal.
