Five Guys, the popular US burger chain, is understood to have already secured its second site in Scotland.
The group, which has already acquired the former Pesto site in Glasgow, is understood to have secured a unit at the Braehead shopping scheme for an opening later this year.
At the same time, it is believed to be in advanced negotiations to secure its second site in Berkshire and its first in Leeds.
Earlier this month, it secured its sixth site in Greater London, after exchanging on a site in Wimbledon.
The company is understood to have taken the Casa Nostra unit in The Broadway, Wimbledon, for an opening later this year.
The 12-strong group also has openings in Bristol, Cambridge and Harlow in the pipeline.
It has previously talked about having c20 sites operating by the end of the year.
