Five Guys, the better burger brand, has begun a trial of a delivery service for the first time in the UK, MCA has learnt.

The group, which operates 60 sites across the UK, began trialling the service this week with Deliveroo at its sites in Covent Garden, Putney, Kingston, Bristol and Cambridge Leisure Park.

It is thought that if the trial is successful that the group, which launched in the UK in 2013, will look to add further sites to the service.

The launch of the delivery trial comes as the group gears up to open its first sites of 2017 in Kensington High Street and in the Arndale Centre in Manchester.

MCA understands that the group is also in in talks to open a site in London’s Leicester Square in a new unit on the front of the Trocadero and on a unit in Clapham.

It is also set to open on the Boujis site in South Kensington subject to planning approval.

The group, which made its debut in France earlier this year in Bercy Village, Paris, plans to open 40 restaurants in France by the end of 2019, including 15 by the end of 2017. Last month, it opened a flagship 350-cover site in France on the Champs-Elysées.
