Firezza founder Ado Medjedovic is behind a new Pan-Asian restaurant concept being developed in Brighton and Hove, MCA has learnt.

Mye Mye opened its first takeaway and delivery site late last year in Matlock Road, Brighton, with a restaurant planned for Hove, and more branches in the pipeline, MCA understands.

The restaurant serves popular Asian dishes such as gyoza dumplings, katsu curry, pad Thai noodles and laksa soup, as well as cocktails and juices.

Medjedovic founded gourmet delivery concept Firezza with Bosnian compatriot Edin Basic in 2001 after the pair fled the Balkans War as refugees.

After working and managing restaurants such as Spago in Kensington and Stabucks, they opened their first branch of Firezza in Battersea in 2001.

After 15 years and building the concept up to 17 sites, Firezza was bought by PizzaExpress in February 2016 in a deal understood to be worth c£5m.

Medjedovic, who is also listed as a director of catering company La Firma, left Firezza after the deal, while Basic remained on as managing director.
