Firezza, the London-based, upscale pizza delivery chain, is closing in on its first regional opening in Kent, M&C Report understands.
The 11-strong company, which earlier this year acquired a controlling stake in rival brand Pizza Lupa, is understood to have lined up a site in Tunbridge Wells, one of three sites it hopes to open before the end of the year.
It plans to grow to 25 sites over the next three years, after securing new investment.
The new funding has seen YFM Equity Partners sell its c25% stake in the business, which was launched in 2001 by Adnan Medjedovic and Edin Basic, who came to Britain in 1992 to escape war-torn Bosnia.
The new investment has allowed the company to acquire a controlling stake in Pizza Lupa, which operates three sites in Crouch End, London Bridge and Islington. It is thought that a shareholder of Pizza Lupa will take a position on the board of Firezza as part of the deal.
