Scott Hallsworth, the fomer executive chef at Wabi, which recently saw its London site closed and placed into administration, is to open an izakaya (a Japanese ‘pub’) called Kurobuta near Marble Arch later this year.

Hallsworth has secured the former ASK Italian site in Kendal Street for the new operation.

In May, he was fired from his role as executive chef at Wabi London, which opened at Lincoln’s Inn Fields last summer.

Lst month, the high-end Japanese restaurant, was placed in administration. The move has had no impact on its sister restaurant in Horsham, West Sussex.

According to Companies House, Hallsworth and founder Andre Cachia had their positions as directors of Wabi London terminated on 11 June. A strike-off application was issued against the company on 7 May and discontinued the following day.
