Alfie Best, the founder and chairman of Wyldecrest Parks – one of Britain’s largest mobile home companies, has acquired the three-strong Rare Cow steakhouse business with plans to turn the brand into a national chain.
The steak house and bar concept was launched last April by food blogger Richard Lester and has sites in Billericay, Writtle and Earls Colne.
Best said: “I really enjoyed the steak at the Billericay outlet in Jackson’s Lane and just got chatting with Richard Lester the owner. It turned out he was looking to move on to other things so I’ve jumped in quickly. To ensure an easy transition I’m keeping Richard on as a consultant so the business will run smoothly.”
Lester said: “Alfie has big plans for expansion and he is the man to take the brand forward.”
Best founded the Wyldecrest Parks 13 years ago, buying Lakeview Park in Romford, Essex.
Since then the company has grown to 33 parks spread across the UK.
Best also owns several industrial estates ,including Fordview Industrial Estate in Rainham, and A2Z Trade, a wholesale and retail teak furniture business based in Thurrock as well as a number of leisure and nightclub venues in central London.
