Vegan restaurant Erpingham House is launching a £250,000 crowdfunding bid to open a restaurant in Brighton, which is considered to be the vegan capital of the UK.

Currently based in a grade two listed building in Norwich, Erpingham House will launch the bid using Crowdcube to private investors in August before opening it up to the public on 1 September.

The £250,000 represents 15% of the funding required to launch the new project and improve its original site. The proposed new restaurant will cater for other diets as well as vegans and will be free of single-use plastic.

“While our Norwich site will always be close to my heart, we have big plans for the Erpingham House brand, and I’m excited to see what the future brings,” said Loui Blake, Managing Director of Erpingham House.

If the necessary funds are raised Blake plans to open the restaurant in 2020.
