Ignite Group, the operator of Boujis, the private members club and the Eclipse bar brand, has announced that Tina English, former commercial director of Ping Pong, will become the new managing director of its three-strong Bumpkin restaurant chain from May, as it continues to look at opportunities to expand the concept.

English, who was also previously group marketing director of City Centre Restaurants (now The Restaurant Group) and commercial director of Paramount Restaurants, will replace Jason Myers, former operations director at Zizzi, who joined Bumpkin as managing director in July 2010.

Matt Hermer, Ignite Group`s chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Tina to the Board. Tina brings an enormous wealth of knowledge and relevant experience in the F&B arena and we look forward to helping her expand the Bumpkin sensibility of locally sourced, great British food, in a friendly and informal environment.”

Ignite currently operates three Bumpkin restaurants in Notting Hill, South Kensington and at Westfield Stratford. It was previously in talks over a further site in the City.

Last year, it announced plans to open two new sites over the next six months and said it was exploring further opportunities to expand within the M25.
