Ed’s Easy Diner is to operate its first restaurant inside a Debenhams with an opening in Basildon, M&C understands.

The Andrew Guy-led chain also opened its 43rd site in the Peacocks Centre in Woking this week.

The Debenhams site is the second time Ed’s has linked up with a retailer after a successful collaboration with Selfridges.

The company, which is expected to change hands by the end of the year, reported diner EBITDA of £5.9m in the year to 30 September 2014, up from £2m the previous year, on turnover of £26.5m, an increase of £8.9m (50.7%) over last year.

Ed’s declined to comment.
