Herve Durochat, business partner of Spanish chef José Pizarro, is to open a French bistro in London’s Bermondsey Street in partnership with Alexandre Bonnefoy, ex-head sommelier at the Arts Club, and former Morgan M head chef Sylvain Soulard, M&C Report has learnt.

The 20-seat restaurant is to be called Casse-Croûte, which is roughly translated as snack food.

Durochat, formerly of Hakkasan and Soho House, said it will have a short wine list and an atmosphere and dinning experience as good as the renowned Chez Paul restaurant in Paris.

Durochat is still involved in Pizarro’s two outlets: the tapas and sherry bar Jose, and Pizarro restaurant, also on Bermondsey Street.
