Wood-fired pizza specialist Dough&Co has secured a third site, in Bishops Stortford.

The concept will open in mid-September in the Anchor Street Cinema Complex, in a former McDonald’s unit, following sites in Colchester and Sudbury.

The 80-cover restaurant will be fitted with trademark furniture made of recycled wooden pallets, with an open kitchen.

The business is led by former Marco Pierre White sous chef Chris Sharman.

He plans to open six or seven restaurants in the east of England in the short term, in towns such as Bury St Edmunds, Halstead, Chelmsford and Newmarket, part of a wider ambition to reach 50 overall.
