Doubts have been raised over the future of Inc Group, the Greenwich-based operator led by Frank Dowling, after subsidiary company as placed into administration, M&C Report has learnt.

It is thought that a number of the eight-strong group’s sites, including the O2-based American Bar & Grill and Union Square, have been offered to other operators.

Grant Thornton was appointed as joint administrator to Greenwich Inc Holdings Ltd earlier this week.

Inc Group has been consolidating its Greenwich-focused estate over the last 18 months, disposing of four sites in the borough to leave it with an eight-strong chain.

Madison, the new group set up by Dowling, opened new venture Far Rockaway on the former Elbow Rooms site in Shoreditch last month.

Far Rockaway will be a 400-cover multi-faceted space that combines urban art, New York-inspired food and a comic-book reading room. It comprises a “strong casual dining and live sport and entertainment mix”.

Madison is named after the restaurant, bar and café, Dowling launch on the roof of One New Change, at the end of 2010.

Dowling set up the sister company to Inc Group to oversee the launch of new restaurant and bar ventures.
