Jacques Dejardin , former operations director at Jamie Oliver Restaurants, has been appointed managing director of The Blind Group, the Singapore-based management company specialising in the hospitality sector, M&C Report understands.

Dejardin stepped down from Jamie Oliver Restaurants earlier this year after overseeing the company’s “Specialist Group”, including Barbecoa, Fifteen and Jamie’s Italian Threadneedle Street.

Among the projects The Blind Group is currently working on is Oxwell & Co a high end pub located in Singapore’s Club Street dining precinct.

Dejardin previously spent two years as a general manager at Gaucho.

Following Dejardin’s departure the company promoted Belinda Barber from general manager for Barbecoa to the role of operations manager.

Jamie Oliver Restaurants  hopes to add an international site under its Barbecoa concept next year under a partnership agreement, but has ruled out Dubai as a possible destination.

It is also to open a second Barbecoa opening in London on the former Gala Casino site in Piccadilly.
