Restauranteur and hotelier Deepak Ohri is planning to launch Breeze, a high-end pan-Asian restaurant, in London and is understood to be interested in Knightsbridge.

M&C Report understands that ahead of securing a permanent restaurant site Ohri is launching a pop-up restaurant in London next month “to test the market”.

Ohri, who operates high-end restaurants in New Zealand and India as well as his flagship site in Bangkok, Thailand, is opening his first European restaurant in Frankfurt in May, which will be the second location for Breeze.

Sam Leong, who has been dubbed as the man behind modern Chinese cuisine, is the executive chef for the Breeze restaurants which offers a high-end pan-Asian dining experience aimed at affluent diners.

Ohri said he will consider any location in London but is particularly interested in Knightsbridge.

Breeze started in Thailand as one of six concepts within The Dome at lebua flagship site in Bangkok that also includes Café Mozu, Distil Bar, Messaluna, Ocean 53, Sirocco and Sky Bar.

His company also runs lebua Hotels and Resorts, which includes 5-star hotels and fine dining restaurants that he is looking to grow internationally.
