Crown Resorts, the Australian casino business, has bought a 20% stake in the high-end Japanese restaurant group Nobu.

James Packer, who owns the Australian group, has paid $100m for a share of the company which renowned chef Nobu Matshushia owns with film producer Meir Teper and acting legend Robert DeNiro.

The remaining 80% share of Nobu will be held by entities associated with Matsuhisa, De Niro and Teper.

Nobu operates 32 restaurants in Europe – including two London sites, Middle East, South Africa, Asia and North and Central America.
