Cote, the BC Partners-backed company, will further strengthen its presence in London later this summer with an opening in Barnes.

MCA understands that the company, which operates 94 sites under its eponymous brand, has secured the former Wildwood site in Station Road, Barnes, for an opening this June.

The company recently opened its first restaurant of 2018, on the Caffe Vergnano 1882 unit at Royal Festival Hall.

Earlier this month, Tasty, the operator of the Wildwood and Dim T brands, said it did not intend to open any new restaurants in 2018 as it focused on restructuring its existing portfolio.

The company disposed of three underperforming restaurants and opened six new Wildwood restaurants during 2017. Post year end, it has disposed of a further three sites – leaving it with an estate of 61. It said there were “a number of sites” still earmarked for disposal.

Nick Weir at Shelley Sandzer acted on the Barnes deal.
