Cote, the BC Partners-backed group, has secured two sites for its fledgling Jackson & Rye concept, including the first outside London, MCA has learnt.

The group, which acquired the three-strong brand earlier this year, has secured unit 1 at the Kingston Riverside scheme and 219 High Street in Guildford, for the format, with both expected to open later this year.

The company, which is led by Alex Scrimgeour, is also believed to be in advanced talks on a further site in central London for the East Coast American-style concept.

It currently operates Jackson & Rye sites in Chiswick, Richmond and Wardour Street, Soho.

Earlier this year, MCA revealed that Cote had moved to strengthen the operations team of the brand.

It had appointed Ben Matthews, formerly of Corbin & King and Gaucho, as the brand’s new operations director; and Davide Bargione, formerly chef director of Jamie Oliver’s Barbecoa concept and executive chef of Jamie’s Italian, as its chef director.

MCA understands that the group will look to increase its openings target from 15 to c25-30 sites going forward with an ideal split being 10 openings across all three of its brands Cote, Jackson & Rye and Limeyard, a year.
