Cote, the French brasserie chain backed by Richard Caring, which is believed to have received approaches, is to open in Chichester as it builds up its pipeline for next year. The group, which is believed to be also close to securing a unit at the Kingston Riverside development, has taken the former Bonmarche unit in the town’s South Street with an opening scheduled for the start of next March. The company will open its next two sites next month in Blackheath and London’s Market Place. It recently secured its first site in the North, in York, with an opening scheduled for next March, subject to planning. It is thought that the move will be the first of a number of sites the group is looking to add to its pipeline in the North over the next 18 months, with Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds obvious target locations. A further site in Windsor is also believed to be in the pipeline. Casey Phillips at Shelley Sandzer acted on the Chichester deal.
