Sir Terence Conran’s Albion restaurant at his new Boundary project in East London has been named as the best new cheap eats in the 2009 Time Out London Eating & Drinking Awards.

The award for best new restaurant was given to the Giaconda Dining Room in Soho, which was opened last year by Australian couple Paul and Tracey Merrony.

The Harwood Arms, which is co-owned by TV chef Mike Robinson, won the best new gastropub and 69 Colebrooke Row was named best bar.

Other winners included L’Anima for best new Italian, Lantana picked up the award for best new café and Bob Bob Ricard for best new design.
