High profile chef Jason Atherton and the Conran Group are both understood to be in talks to take space at the Turnmill development located in the heart of London’s Clerkenwell.

It is thought that the Conran Group is looking to open the third site under its Albion café format at the 70,500sq ft development owned by Derwent.

It is unclear what concept Atherton , who is set to open a  new smaller format concept called Social Wine & Tapas in Marylebone, has in mind for the scheme, but he has previously mooted the idea of launching a pizza-led venture.

Conran opened the second site under its Albion concept earlier this year at NEO Bankside. It is thought that the group will use the proceeds from the sale of his 51% stake in D&D London, to turn Albion into a chain.

Atherton, who currently operates 14 restaurants across the world, including Social Eating House and Pollen Street Social in London, is believed to have secured a unit at 39 James Street, Marylebone for the first site under the new tapas and wine venture.
