Coal Grill & Bar, the Charterhouse Leisure-owned brand, plans to add six further sites to its estate throughout the country by 2015.

The group is to concentrate on units of 3,500 to 4,000sq ft in size in “strong cinema-anchored shopping centres and leisure schemes”.

The company, which has already secured a unit in the upcoming £50m Regent Circus scheme in Swindon, has appointed Savills as its retained leasing agent for its national acquisitions programme.

The preference is for units totalling 3,500 to 4,000 sq ft in strong cinema-anchored shopping centres and leisure schemes.

The group, which is chaired by James Horler, recently also opened in Milton Keynes and secured £2m of new funding to further expand and refresh its brand late last year.

The new facility was a mixture of bank funding from Barclays and private equity investment from existing backers Beringea and Octopus VCT. Carlene Hughes of Savills said: “Coal Grill and Bar is very popular with diners and trades well from its existing locations. The brand has great potential to grow further and we are happy to be on board to help them do this.”
