Claw, the crab-focussed restaurant backed by former theatre producer and entrepreneur Phil Cameron, is closing its Kingly Street site.
The Fabian Clarke-led concept opened in Soho in 2017, after stints in street food markets and British Land’s Finsbury Avenue scheme.
The business is expected to relocate to a smaller, as yet undisclosed location in Covent Garden.
Cameron is the founder and chief executive of No1 Lounges, an eight-strong airport lounge group.
He has previously told MCA: “My feeling is Claw is a great brand with potential and we’ll definitely grow it. The questions is in what direction and when. From experience you only grow it to the extent it’s ready to grow. A lot of things go wrong when you get too heavily into the rollout.”
