The team behind the Soho-based restaurant and bar Chotto Matte is set take the Mayfair site formerly occupied by Bo London, M&C Report has learnt.

It is thought that the team led by Kurt Zdesar, founder of dim sum chain Ping Pong, has secured the Mill Street-based site for an unnamed new venture and is also in talks regarding a further unit in the City.

Bo London Ltd, the company that ran Alvin Leung’s Michelin-starred restaurant Bo London, was placed into administration earlier this year, owning c£485k to unsecured creditors.

Zdesar, the former head of Nobu Europe, opened the three-level, high-end Nikkei restaurant and bar Chotto Matte at the end of last summer in Soho Frith Street.

It acquired the site from Giraffe, which had operated it under its New York-inspired Bar & Grill format.
