Chopstix Noodle Bar has announced plans to open four new sites in Brixton, Canary Wharf, Cardiff, and Kingston-upon-Thames by the end of the July. The new sites follow three recent openings in Glasgow, Oxford, and Bolton.

The Asian QSR brand plans to open at least 12 stores this year to expand its estate of 75 restaurants, including a 22-strong franchise operation. New sites will be a mix of franchises alongside directly owned and operated stores.

The growth news follows the announcement of a £16.2m turnover for the year to 25 April 2021. The brand has launched partnerships with two new franchise partners during this period.

Commenting on the expansion, MD Jon Lake said: “We’re gathering very strong momentum, not just in terms of sales but also the amount of opportunity we have to expand through equity stores, franchise partnerships and also through brand extensions and collaborations.

“As such we are very confident about the year ahead and the prospects for the Chopstix brand overall, and look forward to sharing more on these various initiatives in due course.

“Like all companies in our space, these historic numbers look somewhat different to what was originally budgeted, and represent a very robust performance, given the circumstances and challenges of the health crisis.”
