Chop’d, the Eddie Holmes-led salad bar chain, has strengthened its partnership with Selfridges with the opening of a new unit in the department store’s Manchester branch.

The site is Chop’d second in Manchester, and fourth regional site out of a total estate of 16.

The group operates two units with Selfridges in London and Holmes told MCA it was a natural move to extend the partnership.

He said: “It’s worked successfully in Oxford Street and we have replicated the formula here. It’s all build-your-own – we haven’t added any ready-to-got at the moment but they may come later.

“Manchester has been very successful for us and now we have a very robust national supply chain it allows us to move swiftly, so we are looking at other potentials. We are interested in all the major cities in the UK to start with.

“We have taken the time to understand the market outside London and work with our supply chain and we’re now in a good position to grow.

“We are having some good conversations with landlords.”

Holmes said trade had been buoyant over the summer, boosted by the hot weather.
