Chilango, the burrito chain, is lining up an opening in Birmingham, as it looks to strengthen its regional presence.

The 11-strong group has applied to open in the ex-West Brom building society site on the corner of Colmore Row and Bennetts Hill in the city.

Eric Partaker, co-founder of Chilango, the burrito chain, told MCA last month that the company will have a national presence by the end of its current financial year as it gears up to open in four major cities across the UK.

Partaker said the group, which is on course to post turnover of over £11m in its current financial year, was currently experiencing double-digit growth across its 11-strong estate.

The company has already secured sites in Leeds and Glasgow for the openings over the coming year, and is thought to be close on a unit in Bristol.
