Chicken concept Wingmans is to launch its largest site to date in Soho this week.

Located on Old Compton Street, the 150-cover restaurant is set to soft launch on Friday (7 August) for dinner service, before its official opening on 14 August.

Spanning over two floors, the site will house a walk-in ‘wing bar’, as well as four 20-cover ‘private caves’, which will be available to book once social distancing measures have been relaxed.

The opening will be the second bricks-and-mortar site for the business, which was founded by Ben ford and David Turofsky in 2015 before launching its first permanent restaurant – a 55-cover site in Kilburn – in 2018.

Prior to that, the business operated at several music festivals and events, obtaining awards at a number of street food competitions including Wing Fest and the British Street Food Awards, and it also operates a takeaway delivery hatch in Shoreditch.

The offer focuses on wings, sauces and sides, and new menu items at the site will include flavoured chicken wings, buttermilk chicken burgers and cocktails.

“Soho is part of London’s cultural fabric and it was always our dream to bring Wingmans to the food scene here,” said co-founder Turofsky. “Following the overwhelming response in Kilburn and the many events and festivals we pop up at, we knew the next move needed to be a big one and we’re looking forward to bringing a brand-new offering to Soho.

“We’ve been working hard in the kitchen during lockdown to come up with some fresh, new dishes and can’t wait to finally launch our new Soho exclusive menu.”
