CAU, the casual dining sister concept to Gaucho, is set to open six restaurants in the first half of next year as it looks to grow to 17 sites by the end of 2015.

The six-strong group, which will open in Wimbledon and Henley this month, will open in Reading and Liverpool in January and February respectively.

It has lined up its first opening in central London in St Katherine’s Dock for next March, with openings in Bath, Birmingham and Wilmslow to follow.

It has also secured a site in Harrogate’s Albert Street development with an opening lined for the fourth quarter of next year.

In July M&C reported that CAU is to make its north west debut in Liverpool in the first quarter of 2015 after securing a 5,000sq ft unit in the city’s Castle Street.

Martin Bloom at Insight Retail acted on behalf of CAU for the Liverpool deal.
