Steve Novak, the founder of the Cattle Grid brand, is set to launch a new fast casual concept called Stampede, M&C understands.

It is understood that Novak is close to securing Gino D’Acampo’s My Pasta Bar site in the food court at the Lakeside Shopping Centre for the first opening under the new fast-casual format.

It is believed that Novak is also in talks to secure a high street location for the new venture.

Novak launched Cattle Grid and later launched Poulet Rouge but sold the only site under the latter in Balham to Soho House earlier this year despite winning a copyright dispute with Casual Dining Group (CDG) when it was Tragus, relating to the restaurant name.

It has recently re-opened as Soho House’s first Chicken & Egg Shop.

Cattle Grid currently has sites in Balham, Leeds and Windsor as well as operating the Earlsfield Pub & Kitchen in London’s Earlsfield.
