Carluccio’s, the all-day Italian café chain led by Simon Kossoff, is set to make its debut in Abu Dhabi before the end of the year.
The group has secured a site at the Eastern Mangroves development in the city, with an opening planned for this autumn for what will become its ninth site outside the UK.
A further two sites are expected to open in the Middle East before the end of 2013.
The group is currently exploring opportunities for a second site in Turkey, after opening its first in the country at The Kanyon Shopping Mall in Istanbul last year.
The 76-strong company recently opened sites in Aberdeen and Newcastle and hopes to launch in Harrogate before the end of the year.
