Richard Caring, the high-profile owner of a clutch of upscale eateries and leisure assets, is believed to be looking for further restaurant acquisitions in America. The clothing magnate and owner of The Ivy, Le Caprice and J Sheekey has already reportedly made an unsuccessful bid for Balthazar, a New York eaterie owned by British entrepreneur Keith McNally. He is also thought to be interested in the Four Seasons restaurant. In the UK Caring is backing the expansion of Cote Restaurants, set up by the former management team that rolled out Strada before it was sold to Tragus Holdings. Caring also owns Annabel’s nightclub, Soho House and Wentworth Golf Club.
