Dominic Lake and Patrick Clayton-Malone, two of the founders of Canteen, plan to launch a standalone site for their new music-inspired concept Spiritland next year, M&C Report understands.

The pair along with Paul Noble, recently launched Spiritland, which they describe as a “unique music space”, as a pop-up at Lake’s Merchants Tavern site in Shoreditch.

Following this residency at Merchants Tavern, the Spiritland will open as a permanent restaurant, bar and members club “with music at its heart” at an unnamed location in 2015

The founders said that Spiritland will be a place for “appreciating music in a leisurely and luxurious style”.

Clayton-Malone said: “There aren’t DJs mixing, but music curators playing their pick of the last 50 years of popular music - a highly curated and leisurely presented blend of jazz, folk, soul, blues, rock’n’roll and beyond - played at a moderate level to allow discussion.”Dominic Lake and Patrick Clayton-Malone, two of the founders of Canteen, plan to launch a standalone site for their new music-inspired concept Spiritland next year
