Popular Bengali pop-up Calcutta Street is to launch its first standalone restaurant in London’s Fitzrovia, MCA understands.

The concept, which is the brainchild of Shrimoyee Chakraborty, is understood to have secured 29 Tottenham Street for an opening later this summer.

Calcutta Street started as a pop-up last year at London’s Camden Market and led to several sold-out pop ups across central London and the City.

The new restaurant will focus on authentic homemade Bengali cuisine from Kolkata.

Sammy Weinbaum at CDG Leisure acted on the Fitrovia deal.
