Cafe Rouge, the Casual Dining Group brand, is trialling a new virtual brand, Chef & Rooster, at selected sites, MCA has learnt.
The chicken focussed menu is similar to CDG stablemate Las Iguanas’ virtual brand Blazing Bird, and features whole and half roast marinated chicken with sauces, as well as burgers, wings, dippers, fries, and vegan options.
The brand is being offered in Brighton, Greenwich, Canary Wharf and Edinburgh.
Café Rouge also operates virtual brand Stack & Grill from its kitchens, which features a menu of beef burgers, croque monsieurs, fries and wings.
James Spragg, chief operating officer of CDG, said earlier this year the group was looking to get a “slice of the delivery market” through the launch of Stack & Grill.
He said with Café Rouge busy in the day but quieter in the evening, there was capacity in its kitchens for more delivery customers at that daypart in particular.
