Cabana, the fledgling Brazilian concept led by David Ponte, founder of the Momo and Mocoto restaurants and restaurateur Jamie Barber, has secured its fifth site in London in Upper Street Islington.

The group, which earlier this summer raised £3.5m of new funding, has secured the 4,500sq ft Rattlesnake site on the corner of the Design Centre scheme for an opening this December.

It will open its fourth site later this month at the Wembley Designer Outlet and is believed to be targeting a unit in south London for its sixth opening.

Earlier this summer, the company secured a further £2m through fundraising from existing shareholders, including Nick Leslau, and friends, plus a new £1.5m debt facility from HSBC.

It is currently on site at the Wembley scheme on a 5,000sq ft unit, which will be its biggest yet.

Harry Simpson at Leisure Partnership acted on the deal.
