Byron, the Hutton Collins-backed better burger group, is making its Scottish debut with a site opening in the coming months at Aberdeen’s Union Square.
The 3,751sq ft restaurant will open ahead of sites in Edinburgh and Glasgow that the group secured earlier this year.
So far in 2015 Byron has secured a pipeline of 13 sites and is understood to be in advanced legals on a further 11.
Tom Byng, Byron’s founder, said: “We couldn’t be happier to be bringing proper hamburgers to Scotland. Over the years we’ve had more and more customers ask when we’ll be opening here, so it’s a real pleasure to finally be able to give them the answer they’re looking for. We can’t wait to welcome the people of Aberdeen to our first Scottish home in Union Square.”
Sarah Fox, Head of Restaurants and Leisure at Hammerson, said: “We are delighted that Union Square will be welcoming Scotland’s first Byron. The brand is a fantastic addition to the centre’s diverse line-up of restaurants and is testament to the popularity of the centre’s dining offer within the local community. By continuing to attract restaurants that provide our customers with new and exciting dining experiences we are reinforcing Union Square’s position as Aberdeen’s retail, catering and leisure destination.”
