Current Gondola-owned brands – ASK Italian and Zizzi, plus the previously-owned Byron, have all secured new sites in Manchester.
ASK and Byron are to replace the recently closed Kro site in the city’s Piccadilly area, with openings planned for February and March next year respectively.
At the same time, M&C Report understands that Zizzi will open next to the Miller & Carter site in the city’s King Street.
The former Kro site will be Byron’s second site in the city, with a third set to open at the Corn Exchange redevelopment next June.
Byron’s founder, Tom Byng, said: “Manchester has a well-established burger scene and we’ve been delighted by the response since we opened our first restaurant in the city on Deansgate in 2013. We see Piccadilly Gardens as another exciting opportunity and are really looking forward to be opening there.”
ASK Italian managing director Jason Thomas said: “We’ve found a great site in a great city, and are looking forward to bringing the ASK Italian recipe of authentic dishes, warm service and fresh design to Manchester.”
