By Chloe, the popular US-based, vegan burger concept, is planning to launch in the UK, MCA understands.

The company, which was founded in New York by Chloe Coscarelli and Samantha Wasser, is believed to have signed an agreement with a UK-based firm to introduce the concept into the UK.

MCA understands that the UK partner is currently in talks on a site in London’s West End but is hoping to open a number of units under the By Chloe name in the capital going forward.

The concept currently has seven sites in the US, with a further three set to open this year.

By Chloe’s best-selling Gauc burger is seen as the vegan answer to Shake Shack.

In July 2015, the concept opened its first location in New York City’s West Village to a queue down the block.

The restaurant is 100% vegan, featuring Chef Chloe’s signature house-made burgers, fresh pastas, seasonal soups, salads, cold-pressed juices, vegan ice cream and baked sweets.

MCA visited By Chloe on its 2016 tour of New York. The concept was housed in an approachable, colourful, fun space.

Co-founder Wasser said that being a restaurant by Millennials for Millennials has contributed to its success.

The numbers are certainly impressive, with the group’s first site attracting up to 1,400 people a day and turnover of over $500,000 (£345,000) a month.
