Burger King UK has appointed Lunson Mitchenall to help push forward its acquisition strategy, with the brand looking to open at least 30 new outlets a years over the next three years, it has been reported.

The retail and leisure agency will cover East Anglia, the South East, South West and South Wales. Lunson Mitchenall has already secured nine new sites for the fast food chain, with recent openings in Brentwood and Cheltenham.

It is understood the focus is on high footfall areas where there isn’t a pre-existing Burger King, and includes transport hubs, drive thru locations, retail parks, shopping centres and high street locations.

Lunson Mitchenall director Matt Maynard said: “It is a really interesting time for the fast food market in particular which, against the wider economic back drop, is enjoying strong growth thanks to a shift in perception of fast food and consumers responding to Burger King’s reinvigorated offering.
