Burger & Lobster has made its debut in Saudi Arabia, after opening a restaurant in Jeddah.

The group, which already operates sites in Kuwait and Dubai, has opened in the Al-Khaldya Center. Further overseas openings are also lined up in New York, its second in the city, and in Malaysia on a new restaurant with the Genting Group.

At the same time, MCA understands that the group is quietly seeking offers for its site in Bath and is considering consolidating its London estate.

Earlier this year, it placed its sites in Cardiff and Manchester on the market.

The group appointed CBRE to advise on the sale of the two sites, with the restaurant in Cardiff recently closing.

Current managing director Simon King is to stand down later this month as managing director of Burger & Lobster in September to oversee the growth of Shake Shack across the Middle East, Turkey, Russia and the UK.
