Burger & Lobster is to open its first restaurant in Singapore, later this year.

An 81-cover restaurant is planned for the top floor of the Jewel Changi Airport development, and will offer the group’s signature burger, Atlantic lobster and lobster rolls, with new seasonal dishes inspired by local flavours.

The company said it is planning further international openings, including in the United States and elsewhere in Asia.

In October last year the business announced it has recovered from a £10m in 2016 to post a £2.4m in 2017. It closed four UK restaurants in order to focus on London and international expansion during the year to 31 December 2017.

At the time it said it was using London as a “test kitchen” for concepts that it can roll out internationally, and that B&L planned to have two more sites in the US by 2020 as well as expanding into Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada and China.
