Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs hope that McDonald's could turn the corner now that it has articulated its problems.

Goldman say the stock is probably dead money over the next year but it could be a positive wild card.

JP Morgan has maintained its "underperform" rating wanting to see proof of changes. Lehman Brothers has upped the company from "underperform" to "equal weight" while it monitors management changes.

An opinion piece in The Daily Telegraph describes the burger giant as the "fast-fading Lord of the Onion Rings", a company "baying in dismay, in the long, dark shadow of McAmerica".
