Broccoli Pizza & Pasta, the Dubai-based restaurant concept, has lined up six new openings in the UK, part of a global plan to open 65 this year, MCA understands.

The value-led family-friendly chain, which has just one UK store open in Bedford Street, Covent Garden, is set to open in Portswood, Southampton, Cambridge, Swindon, Glasgow and Leicester.

The Glasgow site is 387 Sauchielhall Street, Leicester is 66 London Road, while Swindon is in Brunel Shopping Centre.

The Italian-inspired concept has 96 stores around the world, all concentrated in the Middle East, though with plans to open in Estonia and India.

Founded in 2011, the chain serves pizza, pasta, salad, soup and lasagne, and is working with PICO International on franchising.

Richard Kay, franchise sales manager, said: “Within six years of the launch, we are proud and excited about our reach, which is set to grow to 12 countries by 2018. We are grateful to our customers and stakeholders for making us a brand to reckon with.

“We have put years into researching the markets around the world with the aid of PICO International, focusing on the busiest locations and offering exactly what we stand for- quality & taste at all outlets to our loyal customers.”
