Boxcar, the new “butcher & grill” concept from Barry Hirst, co-founder of Cubitt House, has confirmed it will launch its debut site in Marylebone, MCA understands.
The new venture, which will be a neighbourhood butcher, café & evening steak house, has signed up for 1,180sq ft over two floors in New Quebec Street.
The company said: “We’ll be sourcing a premium selection of locally-reared produce from independent British farms. Our ethos revolves around helping to revive traditional butchery techniques and giving our customers access to the best seasonal produce. Our butcher store will drive our daily food offering, which will feature grilled steak & chips, burgers & roast pork rolls, all straight from farm to fork.”
Hirst co-founded Cubitt House, the London-based gastropub operator with Stefan Turnbull in 2005.
They sold a majority stake in the business to a consortium of private investors, led by Manjit Dale, founding partner of TDR Capital, at the end of 2015.
