Black & Blue, the American steakhouse chain, has opened its fifth outlet in London, and plans to add a sixth in the capital at the end of next summer, according to reports. The company’s latest site opened earlier this month in Rochester Walk, Borough Market, and includes a 140-cover restaurant and 50-cover bar on the ground floor, with a champagne bar upstairs. Alan Bacon, who with Nick Hill set up Black & Blue in 2000, after selling the Tootsies burger bar chain to Andrew Bonnell, said the company’s sixth site would be a 90-cover restaurant in Chiswick. He also said that the company was currently looking at further possible sites in Canary Wharf and Spitalfields.
